Gluon Sofa by Marc Newson











































This nice Gluon seating is a new design by Marc Newson. Seat and back are injected flame-retardant polyurethane foam over internal steel frame. Sides are rigid polyurethane with grey lacquer finish. Base is steel with grey lacquer finish.

1963 Born in Sydney
1983 After graduating hw was awarded a grant from Australian Crafts Council and staged an exhibition at the Roslyn Gallery in Sydney
1987-91 He moved in Tokyo where a japanese entrepreneur offered to put his design into production
1991 He established his own studio in Paris
1993 He is Designer of year at the Paris furniture exhibition
1994 Creates a sculptural installation for a show at Fondation Cartier in Paris
1997 He opens a wider studio in London to develop a wide range of products

Recent works include Vitra, B&B bags for Bally and projects for Flos Magis and Alessi
